I was visiting with my good (albeit misguided) friend Matt Singer about sharing some love and links among Montana blogs. The idea, of course, is to increase readership and linkage, and get the word out for our Montana compatriots.

We (and I mean “we” in the sense of “Matt”) struck on the idea of “The Rascal Fair”, which is like the Carnival of the Vanities, but open to bloggers with Montana ties. In other words, it will be a compilation of your self-selected best post of the week or one from your archives.

The title, “The Rascal Fair,” is taken from Ivan Doig’s novel, “Dancing at the Rascal Fair.” “What is a rascal fair?” you ask. It’s where you find folks who weren’t hired at the muckle fair, that’s what.

Pick your best post of the week, and email a link to rascalfair@mtpolitics.net by Monday evening. The host will publish the Fair on Tuesday. The rascalfair@mtpolitics.net address will be forwarded to whoever is hosting the fair.

For the summer, and for the foreseeable future, The Rascal Fair will be published bi-weekly (every other week). If you are the host, and low on submissions, please let everyone know, so that schedules can be adjusted accordingly.
