In a rather stunning surprise, Montana State has been tapped to host a playoff game against the Purple Paladins of Furman. The 7-4 'Cats not only made the playoffs, but get their first game at home.
No surprise: the Griz host the Cowboys of McNeese State.
The I-AA (which has ...

Thank you, KXLH for trading NFL gameday coverage of the defending Super Bowl champions for farqing infomercials. I mean, it's not like they were playing one of the toughest offenses in the NFC or anything like that.

The NYT has a great article about the Carroll College Saints, who are beginning their campaign for an unprecedented 5th consecutive national title.

But lead us into a victory,
And deliver us to Detroit.
Amen.

[Update:] I wouldn't ...

Was that Steelers-Colts game a barn-burner or what?
As I've commented elsewhere, I expected a close Steelers win. 27-20 was the score I predicted.
As the third quarter came to a close, I was even surprised to find the score 21-3 in favor of the Steelers.
As the game came to a ...

It used to be that playoff season was a cause for rejoicing for me just because we could watch other teams play besides Seattle and Denver. The regional nature of the NFL assumed that folks in the Rocky Mountain West must like one or the other or both. ...
