Rosh ha Shannah (rosh = head, shannah = year) will be here in about 7 weeks and because the Hebrew calendar has a different cyclical pattern than does the Christian-based secular calendar, there arises much confusion as to when Rosh ha Shannah and other Jewish Holy Days & Festival Days ...

On this past Tuesday, a retired Catholic priest and two veterans put on clown suits and attacked a nuclear missile launch facility just northwest of White Shield, ND. Seriously.

CHRISTIANS: We would like to teach our own special sex ed, emphasizing abstinence until marriage, no safe sex, and the inherent sinfulness of homosexuality. Among other things, of course.
MULTI-CULTIS: Denied! That's not only bigoted, but mean spirited, non-inclusive and downright hateful to others. Did we ...

A Ziessen Pesach (Sweet Passover) and a Joyous Easter to all.
By the way, it's interesting to note that both chocolate matzoh and chocolate bunnies are kosher. The chocolate matzoh is kosher for Passover, while the chocolate bunnies are regular kosher (not kosher for Passover).

The previous post, as lively as it is in comments, I fear somewhat misses the point. The question at hand, and it's an important one, isn't about who accepts what as appropriate celebration. To make it such turns it into a War On Christmas War on a holiday ...

NOT IN OUR TOWN is the inspiring documentary film about the residents of Billings, Montana who responded to an upsurge in hate violence by standing together for a hate-free community. The conclave to select the new pope is set to start tomorrow Monday, and the whole world is abuzz about the selection.
As someone (Hi Boss!) pointed out to me, most, if not all, of the people who are kvetching about issues such as birth control, female priests (or married priests) ...

(This one will offend at least two major religions; at least one of which I belong to, but it doesn't make it any less funny.)
The Pope makes an emergency call to all his cardinals saying, more or less, "Get to Rome. Now."
After all of the cardinals arrive, The Pope ...

I knew it was just a matter of time before The Pope passed away.
You'll notice that I capitalized "The Pope," because that's what he always was in my mind: The Pope. He's the only one I've really known.
Although I sometimes disagreed with the man (even as Catholics, we ...

This story about a young girl whose first Holy Communion was deemed invalid by the Roman Catholic Church has been making the rounds all week, and just damn near everyone has been missing the point.
I first noticed the story when it was mentioned locally, then I saw John Cole and ...

Faith Leaders Seek Bill Limiting Greenhouse Gases
I'm sure this misguided request is fueled by the recent movie on global warming and world destruction. Couple comments... First, the greening of the earth can be a good thing. It'll increase food production which seems to be ...
