Edjmicating The Reading Public
March 7th, 2008 | by Craig |I got this in my inbox the other day with the subject, “Unknown Senate Records Clinton v Ovama.”
I’m quoting it verbatim here, so that you can all consider yourselves edjimicated. Make of it what you will. I know I did.
I have been an Obama supporter since the beginning….HOWEVER…..I just discovered some facts that you can verify for yourself. I am hoping that you will consider the following to be important enough to educate the public of Montana so they can make a better decision on election day. I was amazed.
Senator Clinton, who has served only ONE full term - 6yrs- and another year campaigning, authored and passed into law -20- pieces of legislation in her first six years.
Senator Obama, in his FIRST year in the Senate, authored -152- bills and co-sponsored another 427. In all, since entering the US Senate, he has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096.
Some would prefer that this comparison not be made public. It shows that Obama is a not just a talker, he is a DOER.
I hope that you will enlighten the Montana citizens….of course, after you verify this via The Library of Congress or with the Senate Records. The info I received breaks down Clinton’s 20 but Obama’s list was too extensive.I just realized that Obama is/was there today and will be there tomorrow. Feel free to send this to any other media colleague of your choice.
Thank you for your time.Alexa McClain

I calculate they’re off by three orders of magnitude, give or take. But what’s a little math between friends, right?

Maths are hard, and you have to take that into consideration.

I assume this mathematical endeavor was creative effort, comprised of numbers made up on the spot and then fed into the cyber-rumor mill where it is digested and expelled from the back end as fact. Let the eagle soar.

That Ovama fella’ sure was busy but what did Obama do?

Nice comparison, 20 authored bills passed into law for Clinton versus written bills for Obama. Obama was lead sponser of 1 bill passed into law, the “A bill to provide relief and promote democracy in the Democratic Republic of Congo.” Compared written bills for each or passed laws for each.

I just want CHANGE, and lots of it. And fast. Fast change. A lot of change. I don’t know why I want change. I just do. I don’t even care what the changes are, or what happens because of the changes. Change is what’s needed. Only change will truly change the world. This is why I’m an Ovama supporter and I urge you to join me in the fight for change.

I’m sorry, but I’m not posting on any threads with my husband. I argue enough with him at home.
