What this article explains is the video posted directly above it, “This Might Be Crazy Enough to Work.”
Our perception of risk is mostly influenced by the media and whatever has happened to “this guy I know.” As in “This guy I know took that medicine and had a heart attack and died, so I’m not taking it.” even though the two events were unrelated. It’s not a conspiracy, it’s just journalists out to write a headline-grabbing story who don’t understand statistics anyway, just what ever is fed to them by the person who wants to BE the headline-grabbing story.
Too bad we can’t go back to the days when colleges required logic. I mean, as a course.
