For That Class Act, Bill Belichick

I swear to Gord — I’m almost happier right now than when my Stillers won 2 years go.

Almost.

18-1. Instead of the perfect season, it will go down as the biggest choke in history. Somewhere in Idaho tonight, Bill Buckner is smiling.

BTW, Bill Belichick is a douchebag.

You say that like the two are different things.

Like the wise man once said “This, I tell you brother…”

Both Belechick and Coughlin were assistants under Parcells when Parcells was coaching the Giants. To say that both of them are “anal-retentive” is to damm with the faintest of praise.

It was sweet justice that the Pats had their perfect season snatched from them with just seconds to go. (And it allowed the ‘72 Dolphins’ bubbly to be well-chilled indeed.) I doubt we’ll see another NFL team run the table in my lifetime (or in your grandkids’ lifetime, at that).

By the way, there are two pro teams that had a perfect season: the ‘72 Fins, and the ‘48 Browns (who ran the table when they were in the old All-American Football Conference, going 14-0 in the regular season, and beat the Buffalo Bills — the original Buffalo Bills — 49-7 in the championship game; the Browns won the AAFC title all four year the league was in existence, then joined the NFL with the 49ers and won their division six straight years and the NFL title three of those six years).
