I’ve been a Packers fan all of my life. When I was a kid in the seventies and eighties, all of my friends made fun of me when I said that I was a Packers fan.
I was pulling for the Pack, all the way. But the Giants have made believer of me in the last 4 weeks … kind of like those losers from the Steel town did just 2 short years ago.
Maybe having Peyton and Eli in back-to-back Super Bowls is the football gods’ way of making it up to Archie for having to spend most of his career with the ‘Aints (along with spending time with the Vikes and Oilers when they were lousy as well)…
As I type this one week from the Big Game, it is 53 degrees and pouring rain here in Mesa, AZ (on the other side of the Phoenix Metro Area from what some locals call the “UofPho Stadium” in Outer Slobovia…I mean, Glendale). For folks who don’t know, the field at UofPho is on a tray, and is outside of the stadium getting sun when games aren’t being played, since the roof doesn’t allow enough natural light even when it’s open. Unless there’s a tarp, the new field (George Toma always lays new sod for each Super Bowl, whether it’s needed or not) is getting plenty of water, so footing may well be a factor next week. (They may roll it in after media day.)
Another note: the Giants are staying at the Sheraton Wild Horse Pass Resort — which is an Indian casino. So much for the NFL worrying about gambling.

I think I’m pulling for Brady.

Hey now. You’re on board for a short trip to Bannination City, if you’re not careful, buddy.

My beat up Chargers gave the Pats more of a game than I expected. I wonder if LT had been healthy…
Too bad for Favre that he fell short. I always loved the guy’s obvious zeal for playing the game.
The Giants have had a nice run, but- 38-17 Pats is my guess.
