In Case You Hadn’t Heard

Today is the 107th annual “Brawl of the Wild,” otherwise known as the Griz-Cat game, wherein the hallowed and beloved Griz administer the annual drubbing to the hated and reviled ‘Cats.

We’ll be having some jambalaya and enjoying the game. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bit worried about this game. It is being played in the Litter Box, and the Griz have not only had off-field distractions with their personnel, but also lost one of their top receivers to a broken arm on the concrete at Pocatello last week.

The rest of the receiving corps has stepped up, though, so I don’t think the injury to Bagley will be a huge factor, but the Griz will miss him nonetheless.

The ‘Cats put up a good show against a Portland State team that the Griz barely beat at home. Plus, the ‘Cats are playing for pride against a playoff-bound Griz squad; this is the first year in a while that the Griz-Cat game hasn’t had playoff implications for the Big Sky Conference.

As always, you can throw out the season to-date for this game.

And, as always, I have the yearly bet with Jeff Balboni. Since we have different blog software this year, our bet has changed a little bit, but the loser will still have to display opposition swag for a week.

[UPDATE]:  FINAL: 41-20 Griz

Today is also Championship Saturday for Montana football.

    Sheridan hosts Drummond at 1.

If you can’t bring yourself to root for ‘Cats, try rooting for Panthers.

We’ll definitely be pulling for the Panthers here. I’ll always cheer for a Madison County team as far as they can get!
