Out Here We Is Stoned Immaculate

October 24th, 2007 | by Craig |

Not much time for blogging lately, but it looks like we’re “go for launch” for Small Town, Long Streets, a/k/a the 60 Minute Hate.

I don’t imagine that there’ll be any shortage of topics tonight, so feel free to join in the fun.

I gotta know… Where did the “60 minutes of Hate” come from?

I would love to tune in tonight but there is a debate being held here in Dillon between the various candidates for City Council that I will be at (video camera in hand….). I may be able to catch the last part of the show, though depending on when we get home.

Have fun and I look forward to hearing the podcast afterwards.

If you’re free next week, let me know, so we can get up to speed with all the goings-on in Dill-Ville.

The 60 Minutes Hate is just kind of a riff off of 1984, where they gathered everyone for the 2 Minutes Hate. Since there are a vast number of people who see “hate radio” and “right-wing radio” as interchangeable terms, that’s where I was going.

It made sense in my head…

I see… I haven’t read 1984 in quite a while and didn’t get the reference. While I find a great deal of “right leaning” radio to be overly partisan and short on actual substance, most of it isn’t overly filled with “hate” (though there are a few notable exceptions….).

As far as next week, I see no reason why I couldn’t bring people up to date on what is going on here. My arrest pretty much brought a lot of attention to the Dillon City Circus. The way the Dillon City Budget and Special Tax district resolutions were handled will result in multiple lawsuits. To make matters more interesting, there will probably be at least three allegations of Misconduct on the part of Malesich over things that have occured in the last month.

Things are certainly getting ugly down here…

    Hating is just plain wrong.

Unless the Yankees are involved then hate is a healthy thing. :-)
