Adventures in Healthcare

September 20th, 2007 | by Craig |

As you are reading this, we are up at St. Pete’s hospital here in Helena being induced.

I say “we” as if I were an actual part of the process, but I will be about as helpful as a doorstop.

I’ll keep you posted as events unfold. They might have wi-fi up there, so maybe I can live-blog it!

(No, I keed, I keed. I’m sure I’ll be otherwise occupied.)

Y’know, medical science HAS figured out what causes that…

Seriously, I hope everything comes out okay (pardon the pun)…

    “…and now I can see the placenta!…”

Some things just lend themselves to live blogging; this is not one of those things ;) Congratulations, I hope all goes well, our thoughts are with you. BTW, beware the hide-a-bed in the chair; I about folded myself up in one the last time we did this. The spouse is not impressed when *you* have to call the nurse for assistance.

Hope it’s all going well! And if they’re inducing you… I think y’all need a new doctor.

    ;-)

Maybe you can float the idea of live blogging it - it’d be ‘interesting’ to hear the Mrs. opinion of that… :-)

Best wishes to the wife on the baby birthin’. And best wishes to you on not passing out or saying something stupid. :P

Craig, I don’t know if Dave M has been through this, but a woman in labor is not to be trifled with (and I have the scars to prove it.) You’ll have plenty of time to blog while you smoke a big cigar apres birth.

Good luck, God bless, and mozel tov

Preemptive Mazel Tov’s coming your way!!!

Next time, if there is a next time, tell Cammy to have what my mother always referred to as a “Jewish delivery.” General anesthesia the minute the first labor pain arrives and no waking up until the hairdresser gets there. It’s how I came into the world and I’m…OK, well, nix that ;-)

Aye Carumba, I may be the first blogger outside of Helena to meet the new addition this weekend! Then again the SU may not be up to any of our/my shenanigans.

Give the Mrs. my best and maybe I’ll see you this weekend. Let me know if “you’re” up to it.

And, now you’ll always be the one to remember that it was on this day that the Canadian-$ traded at a premium to the U.S.-$.

All the best to Cammy and yourself.

My guess is that your significant other is calling your all sorts of unprintable names for being the party of the second part to this labor — forced or otherwise. I wouldn’t worry about it; I’m sure she doesn’t mean it.

But then again, *maybe she does*. ;-)

Oh man, ANOTHER one! ;) Give momma a hug for me and wish her all the best. As for you? I should forward you the voicemail you left me when the last one was born — I figured I’d hold onto it just so I could pull it out for nostalgia’s sake at a time like this.
