Marconi Plays The Mambo

August 1st, 2007 | by Craig |

They’re always playing corporation games. Personally, I couldn’t care less, since they’re always changing corporation names.

Tonight we’ll describe in exquisite detail how all the ills in the world can be placed squarely at the feet of modern liberalism.

Oh, yeah. Good times. Good times, indeed.

Incidentally, the time and day should remain the same (Wednesday, 21:00 MDT) for the remainder of the summer. We may have to make a schedule adjustment when school starts, but for now, it’s pretty well set in stone.

Craig, I just want you to know that I’m not trying to avoid your pod-casts. It is factually the case that every single night that you broadcast (and I do mark them down) a certain bunch of folks show up at the door. Though I get tired of that circumstance, it doesn’t excuse my poor behavior towards your stellar efforts. Briefly put, I’m sorry for not listening in until rebroadcast.

I take it that putting all of the problems of the world at the feet of liberalism is this thing called humor, which I still don’t get. But I’m laughing about Iraq. I get it! I get it!

    It’s called hyperbole.

    Look it up sometime.

Alternatively, you could actually listen, and find out that it wasn’t really the topic at all, and we had a decent discussion about health care insurance.

But that would be far too easy, wouldn’t it?

Thanks, Rob. I’ve been thinking that I need to have you on again so we can have another slap fight.

A suggestion for next time: It may have been better just to suggest to Craig that a podcast whose theme was the ills of the world that are attributable to liberalism would be a very short program; hyperbole often is a good counter for hyperbole, sarcasm — not so much.

‘Hyperbole’ is an interesting word. I always wondered how it came about, as ‘bole’ is one of about three things, one of which appears to be a language used in (oddly enough) Northern Chad.

    Is it government’s fault?

For a guy who kvetches so much about “stifling debate,” you seem singularly uninterested in actually, you know, engaging in debate.

It’s far easier to debate with a caricature than an actual person, though, isn’t it?

Thanks a lot Craig. I can’t get that Starship song out of my head. It’s been days now.

Sorry. If it’s any consolation, I’ve been suffering as well.

Damn… I wish I could listen in but we have a City Council meeting tonight that I HAVE to attend. I will have to catch this on on re-runs…

    Give me hell…
