Intersections

July 24th, 2007 | by Craig |

A while back, I posted a link to this story by Lieutenant Colonel M.R. Strobl who accompanied Chance Phelps to his final resting place.

Now, they’re making a movie about that incident, and it’s going to be filmed in Ennis.

They interviewed Lt. Col. Strobl for a special on PBS called Operation Homecoming. It was one of the most touching things I’ve ever seen. Quite frankly, it speaks to people on both sides of the fence when it comes to this war.

The people of Dubois, Wyoming, are thrilled that this project is being filmed in Montana. They had even put up a cell phone tower to accommodate the movie crowd. But apparently Montana has an edge on movie making becuase we have a school here where, at taxpayer expense, we educate kids in the art. Wyoming ain’t got the chops. We’re a bunch of damned socialists up here, and it’s working!

Read the Wyoming papers for more - just traveled through there. They’re not at all thrilled at the way this turned out.

The Kevin Bacon number on this heartthrobber is “1″.

I know it’s difficult, Mark, but you can give it a rest every once in a while, you know? Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
