It’s a factor of age - we oldsters have so much time behind us that one day is not significant anymore, and goes by quickly. It’s already 1/3 the way into June, and it seems like yesterday was April 15.
When I was a kid, summer vacation was an enormous amount of time, and seemed to linger on.

When I was a wee kiddie, each year, in between birthdays, would seem like forever. When I turned eight, it seemed like another eight years before I would turn nine. Now, birthdays keep flying by and, on top of that, I now have a lovely cluster of a few dozen grays on top of my head. Feh.

I’ve noticed that since I get older that the days are long, while weeks & months fly by!
