I remember this from German class many years ago.

“Im Karnival, wir sind frei. Am Aschermittwoch, ist vorbei.”

    -or-

During Carnival (Mardi Gras) we’re free (to eat and drink). On Ash Wednesday, that has passed.

So that means I’ll cook up a good ‘ol Italian feast tonight, drink some red wine - and try to catch Mass tomorrow at some point. Lord knows my schedule is open!

This coincides perfectly with my resolution to give up reading your blog for Lent. ;) Take care!

See you on the 8th, Bro.

For my part, for Lent I’m giving up any claim I might have had to being the father of Anna Nicole Smith’s baby.

Ash Wednesday = National “Excuse Me, You Have Something on Your Forehead Day.”

I have my doubts that Craig will actually blog on the 8th. Instead, I envision him going into a diabetic coma - given the age of his kids and the history of that trespassing rat-bastard bunny that seems to show up on Christianity’s highest of holy days.

So if, after far too much ham, cheesy scalloped potatoes, green beans, ambrosia salad, stale marshmallowy chick “peeps”, chocolate bunnies and jelly beans, he has the compunction to blog how can we respond with but:

He is blogging. Truly he is blogging.
