Signs, Signs, Everywhere A Sign

On a hotel here in Helena:

“Welcome legislatures!”

Oy.

(Picture to follow if I ever remember to take my camera to work — at which point, the sign will have been changed, but it’s the thought that counts, right?)

The scary thought is that whoever put up that sign is quite qualified (perhaps overqualified) to serve in at least one of the “legislatures” or the management of the hotel in question.

As a wise man (I believe it was either Twain or Mencken) once said, “No one’s life, liberty or property is safe while the Legislature is in session.” (And consider yourself fortunate you only have to deal with this every other year. Here in AZ, we have annual sessions — and we use the legislature to keep the mentally challenged employed.)
