It’s Deja Vu All Over Again

It hardly comes as a surprise that the nanny-staters are once again trying to make seat belt use a primary offense.

First time around (2003), it died in committee.

Second time around (2005), it died as well.

Care to take odds this time around?

If it dies in ‘07, I’d take the sucker bet that it’ll return in ‘09.

Heck, I wouldn’t be too surprised if it didn’t become a Federal blackmail issue, much like speed limits and so forth. If the Feds decide to withhold highway money, you can bet that we’ll step right into line.

Now that I think about it, that might be a sucker bet, too.
