Ho Ho Farookin’ Ho, Indeed
December 21st, 2006 | by Craig |Jim received a cyber-turd in his punchbowl, and passed it along to me. Whilst I listen to Bryant Gumbel yammer on about the names of the reindeer, ignoring that fact that, yeah, there’s actually a football game on, I will complete this meme.
(How was that for a run-on sentence, gang?)
1.Wrapping paper or gift bags? I wrap, but to be honest, untamed wolves could probably do better.
2.Real tree or artificial? Real. If we went to a fake artificial tree, the kids would wail until Hell wouldn’t have it.
3.When do you put up the tree? Not until December. Period. Man law.
4.When do you take the tree down? Shortly before a slight rise in temperature would set it a fire.
5.Do you like eggnog? I like nogg egg. I’m thinking some write noo. Moore, pleeaaase…
6.Favorite gift you received as a child? Hands down, the 150-In-One electronic kit from Electron Hut. Perfect for the nerdlet in your life.
7.Do you have a nativity scene? No. I think we’ve got everything else, but not one of those. This year, though, we’re living right next door to a church, and they have a huge one.
8.Hardest person to buy for? The adults in the family.
9.Easiest person to buy for? The baby.
10.Mail or email Christmas cards? Mail. I’m a propeller-head, but I just can’t see emailing Christmas cards.
11.Worst Christmas gift you ever received? Can’t think of a one.
12.Favorite Christmas movie? I gotta go with “It’s a Wonderful Life,” but like Jim, “A Christmas Story” is a close second.
13.When do you start shopping? December 23rd, give or take a day or two.
14.Have you ever recycled a Christmas present? Negative.
15.Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? I gotta pick just one?
16.Clear lights or colored on the tree? Colored.
17.Favorite Christmas song? Hmmm…tough one. I’m going to go with Old City Bar.
18.Travel at Christmas or stay home? Home this year. I think it’ll be an away game next year.
19.Can you name all of Santa’s Reindeers? Well, yeah, I’m a genius, dont’cha know?
20.Angel on the tree top or a star? Star.
21.Open the presents on Christmas Eve or morning? Yes.
22.Most annoying thing about this time of year? Crowds and lines. And that stupid Paul McCartney Christmas song.
23.Do you have Jebus in your heart this Christmas? This has been an odd season. After moving, we’ve found that we had a lot of traditions that we didn’t even realize were traditions. Having said that, though, yes.
24.What would you like for Christmas? To be perfectly honest, the thing I want most isn’t anyone’s to give. I’ll leave it at that.
Now, I guess we’re supposed to pass this to the obligatory 5 folks, but I’m going to chicken out and just give it to you, you, you, you and you.

23.Do you have Jebus in your heart this Christmas?
At first, not being a Simpson fan, I thought that “Jebus” was a typo. But, a quick check with Google proved me wrong: Generally used by the general public and webcomic authors so as not to spark religious debate. It does not “use the Lord’s name in vain,” and gets the message across. Originated from The Simpsons.
