A Conundrum
December 20th, 2006 | by Craig |Throughout history, there have been famous duos, which have sparked heated debate and, in some cases, have ended friendships:
Ginger or Mary Ann
Jennifer or Bailey
Troi or Crusher
Hoshi or T’Pol
Starbuck or Boomer
OK, those last 3 are pretty nerdy, but you know what I’m getting at.
And now, I present a new one:
Suzy or Michele. (If you didn’t know, Suzy Kolber is on the left and Michele Tafoya is on the right.)

I predict that Jon Tester will beat Conrad Burns and Monica Lindeen will do fairly well. Step up to the plate Craig.

Shit fire and save matches, I also forgot Betty and Veronica. They’re even more seminal than Mary Ann and Ginger.

Yes, but I don’t care for either. I am a Wilma/Betty kind of guy. I always thought betty was much hotter that Wilma but could never figure our why. My oldest daughter and I were discussing this very fact last week when she pointed out something I had never noticed. Betty has real eyes while Wilma just has black dots. She went on to point out that Fred had real eyes while Barney just has small brown circles. Based on that, she thinks that Fred and Betty were supposed to be together and Barney and Wilma belonged to one another.
Heh. I think that she is right.
You know, this brings up another good point: never get into a discussion on the zen of cartoon characters with Z. She has a gazillion theories and they each make a lot of sense. Like, have you ever notices that often the only way that they distiguish between boys and girls are that the girls have eye lashes and the boys dont? She pointed that out to me when she was 4. She went on to note that Spongebob has eyelashes while Patrick does not. She was pretty sure that meant spongebob was either really a girl pretending to be a boy or a boy who wanted to be a girl.
Out of the mouth of babes.

Mary Ann
Veronica
Bailey
Crusher
Hoshi
And anyone who sez otherwise is just spoiling for a fight!
But I don’t know the Suzy-duo that you linked to — something sports-related, it appears, so I’ll pass on it.

Suzy, all the way. And anyone who says different is a communist … or worse, a Raiders fan.

Craig: Thanks for letting me know how culturally illiterate I am. I knew who Ginger and Mary Ann were, but that was it. Every other duo you listed was a complete mystery to me. As for the Gilligan’s Island duo, I’m not trying to pretend I’m the perfect objective reporter, but I honestly have never been able to make up my mind. Both?

For what it’s worth, Ed, I don’t think it reflects too badly upon you at all.
In fact, it may very well be a plus.

Which reminds me: Velociman once posted an entry about the eternal “Ginger vs MaryAnn” debate, and came up with a reply that will leave others wide-eyed: “Missus Howell.”

That sounds like V-Man.

Both are a sport fan’s dream: two good looking gals (hot, if you will) who also know their stuff.
