That Explains It

November 10th, 2006 | by Craig |

My beloved and hallowed Stillers are having a rough go of it this season. Mostly, I think it can be chalked up to mental mistakes, which have lead to stupid plays and scads of turnovers.

Craig Henry has a scenario that is the stuff of nightmares.

    You know, this makes sense.

I am the sibling of identical twins and there is an aura of evil which follows them everywhere.

Remember, Michael J. Fox is the father of twins also! ;-)

So you’re saying that Marty McFly is your father?

Paternally I think I’m closer to Doc Brown than Marty McFly.

I’d think that if Roethlisberger was kidnapped two weeks before the Superbowl, the Evil Ben wouldn’t have had the temerity to steal that touchdown on the goal line.

I agree, there have been a lot of mental mistakes this year. The first one had to do with a motorcycle helmet.

Still can’t let that one go, huh?

I’m not giving up on the evil twin theory exactly, but apparently it is all part of a cliff-hanger— to be continued in September of 2007.

Usually the defending Super Bowl champions wind up with a bulls-eye on their backs the next year. The good teams (Patriots, Cowboys of the ’90s, Niners in the ’80s, Steelers in the ’70s, Lombardi’s Packers) usually can overcome this. (Methinks Pittburgh’s problems have more to do with the loss of both Randle-El and the Bus than of Big Ben’s problems.)

You’re right, Kirk. Everyone wants to take out the champ, but holy smokes, these guys are set on self-destruct. Turnovers and mental mistakes are consistently leading to further errors.

I dunno — they better have a better second half today, or that’s all she wrote for the ‘06 season.
