There are plenty of reasonable arguments against the handling of the Iraq War. To imply that reasoned and well-meaning opposition to the President’s Iraqi “policies” (what they are is hard to tell, actually) is aiding terrorists only demonstrates why independents and moderates are flocking to Democratic candidates. No one likes to be called a “traitor,” especially if they oppose a failed policy that looks to threaten the economic and military well-being of the country.

Many of us supported president Bush when he was elected to office. Unfortunately, the administration has shown that they are not the kind of folks we believed they were. We saw signs of things going wrong in Iraq, before the 2004 campaign, but the people gave him more time. We have been patient with the Republican leadership, gave them a more then fair chance to make it work. Montanans know better then most, that actions speak louder then words. Now, after six years controling the entire federal government, president Bush is asking the people of Montana to blame the Democrats for “not having a plan”. For six years, he hasn’t listened to the ideas Democcrats have put forward. It took him a year to admit there were problems in Iraq, It is his responsibility to know when his people aren’t doing a good job. I have never seen a group of people with more power then this administration, and still, whenever something goes wrong it is someone else’s fault. I think the people of Montana know who has been in charge, “Fool me once Shame on you Fool me twice Shame on me.” No one likes to admit mistakes, but a leader must do what’s right for Montana and the country, not the political party. Conrad Burns went along with all the partrisan power plays in this congress, even when he should have known better. We need a change in Washington, the country really needs it, I believe it with all my heart and I believe Montana knows it. Don’t let a president who has had his way for six years, with the help of Conrad Burns, come to Montana and tell you someone else will do even worse! It is the men and women in our military and intelligence services that protect this country, not the politicians. If Goerge W. Bush and the Republican congress had listened to the right advisors, Osama Bin Laden might be dead and Iraq might be a very different country today! You know and I know that it is good to take a strong stand, but if your wrong, you take responsibility too! They have set this country on a course that costs roughly $200 million per terrorist killed, doubling the national debt in 6 yrs., the people of montana know that you can’t fight a war “that will not be won in our lifetime”, like that!

The CEO’s of Halliburton, HMO’s, Enron (those that aren’t in jail), Montana Power (those that are still in Montana and not living on a Carribean Island, courtsey of their former workers’ pensions), and the corporations that run the Republican Party all CAN vote and they’ll be voting Republican.
