You can monitor the daily changes in the outlook for the 2006 U.S. Congressional Elections and the 2008 U.S. Presidential Elections as traded on the Iowa Electronic Markets.

These are real-money futures markets where contract payoffs will be determined by the votes cast.

    I’ve found that the Tradesports markets are pretty danged accurate, too.

    I like Tradesports because they list individual races, and also all kinds of other weird stuff, like “Avian Flu Present in North America by March 2006″.

    I still think the terrorist attack futures market would be a useful tool.
