Well, you know what Leo Getz says about the drive-thru.
You’re down the road just a couple of miles and look and say, “Dammit, I told those idiots to hold the weed, and look. I got weed on my burger.”
As a side note: Cops don’t generally think this is funny.

I just have one question: the article says they were charged with “aggravated battery on an officer.” Did I miss something?

I’m not familiar with the criminal statutes at all, but I imagine that giving someone a potentially intoxicating substance without their knowledge qualifies as battery.
Doubly so on a police officer.
