Required Reading?
October 6th, 2006 | by Craig |I was, to say the least, surprised to find my rant on permission slips on the reading list for a class assignment. (Inflating my ego two notches past the previous “intolerable” level.)
Even more surprising (or maybe not) was that I used to work with the teacher’s husband.
This is why I took the phrase, “Montana is a small town with long streets” as the motto for this site.

Yo, Craig — the link on the reading list to your blog entry is busted…

Yeah, she’s going to get it fixed. I had a nice conversation with her via email today.

Pictograph Caves ought to be a required field trip for everyone… although, ok, not with a blanket permission slip. My kids so enjoyed our trip through the caves this summer. And as for Montana… I love that state. It’s one of the few places in the nation where they seem to understand that space between neighbors makes for more pleasant living.

I’m semi-ashamed to admit that in the almost 8 years we were in Billings, we only made one visit to Pictograph Caves.
When you live that close to something, you always think, “We’ll always have time.”
Same reason we seldom go to Jellystone.
You’re right, though, it is pretty dang cool.
