Life-saver or Orwellian?
September 27th, 2006 | by Craig |That’s part of the headline that ABC put on this story.
The City of New York, having taken on smoking, is now setting their sights on Trans Fats, and personally, I wouldn’t bet against it.
What do you think is next on the agenda?
Alcohol?
Red Meat?
I think I’ll take the under on Red Meat.
<abrupt shift of gears>
Just a guess, and I know I’m admittedly painting in broad strokes, but I’ll bet the same people who are after the Trans Fat would say something along the lines of, “You can’t ban kids from having sex, they’ll find some way to do it.”
Just a hunch.

Black market in trans fats. Trans fat speakeasies. Get the picture?
Well, Craig, Chicago was considering this in mid-July. Don’t know the status of the proposed ordinance.
Set a precedent, and watch the domino effect…
