Border Security? We Don’t Need No Steenkin’ Border Security!
September 12th, 2006 | by Craig |Via Daily Pundit comes the revelation that there have been over 226 incursions by the Mexican military over our southern border.
I’m not the brightest light in the harbor, but isn’t that a de facto invasion?

BZ! I was beginning to think you’d fallen off the end of the earth.

Craig,
THis just goes to show that you conservatives are racists and haters. You just want to keep the latino’s down so that you can exploit them. Joking again. Lighten up foos.
Seriously, this is a major issue and a big problem. What does this say about how border security has improved in the last 5 years? Not only is it porous enough to let in clandestine terrorists, but entire armies are coming through? Good work on the security.

I hope you’re not expecting me to disagree (at least on the 2nd point).
Here’s the thing. Who is it that has managed to paint anyone who wants to tighten border security as a racist? That would be your “progressives.”
What happened to a group who is peacably patrolling our border, and doing nothing more than calling in the authorities when they spot lawbreakers? They are called racist and accused of provoking the illegals. By whom? That would be your “progressives” again.
I’m seeing a pattern here.

Don’t use my own joke to attack me. Silly man.

Not this ‘progressive’ my friend. There are many reasons to secure the borders. Many bad arguments are made for it by racists and people who are not thinking the problem through.
I believe that ‘undocumented workers’ are too often exploited. There are many ‘documented’ cases where they have been forced into slavery. Most of the time they work well below minimum wage, that is also exploitation. They should be paid a livable wage and be well documented. If they are productive members of society, a path to citizenship is called for. If there is a need for labor, we need them. No one benefits from them being paid slave labor, it drives minimum rates here down. If there is labor for them to perform at the same wage as American’s are being paid, then let them come.

Wow, this is like the biggest NAFTA joke set-up EVVARR and you guys are just cruising right past it.
And I don’t think I’ll ever spell ‘ever’ that way again. Ew.

I’m not surprised that Shane is more concerned about the treatment of ILLEGAL aliens than he is the security of our country.

Rocky Smith,
That does not follow my friend. I gave one argument that is a demostably better reason for controlling our borders that ‘racism’. I based it on two things ‘economic’ and ‘humanitarian’.
Actually, read my first post on this thread and you will see that I based it on security. Jeeze, even when I do agree with you, I have done something wrong. I’ll repost it here so you don’t have to bother scolling up, I know how you feel that progressives like me are already making your life tough enough.
Seriously, this is a major issue and a big problem. What does this say about how border security has improved in the last 5 years? Not only is it porous enough to let in clandestine terrorists, but entire armies are coming through? Good work on the security.
Additionally, read my post on it here. It is titled ‘Security? What Security?’. Does it ever piss you off that I am not the crazed, tree-hugging, everything-conservatives-are-for-i-am-against liberal that you want me to be?

You know what, Rockies post above makes me so angry that I came back. I am so sick and tired of conservatives trying to claim that they are the only ones who care about the safety and security of our nation. You do yourself and our country a grave disservice when you act like that, especially in the face of obvious facts. When you make statements like that it sounds a lot like John Boehner saying that democrats are more concerned with protecting the terrorist than America.
I have children that I care about, don’t I? I served in the United States Marine Corps because I care about this country. What gives you the exclusive lock on caring about security? What I really care about is the preserving the American way of life. That is a democratic way of life, which says that we have the right to disagree about things. For you to try and discredit me like that with a ‘doesn’t care about security’ line when there is no proof of that whatsoever is to try and stifle my voice. I wont be swift-boated by you, and I have a pretty good idea that you are too good of a person to try and do that.

Shane-
I didn’t say you don’t care about national security. I said that you seemed to be MORE concerned with the welfare of ILLEGAL aliens. I don’t think you disagree that our borders need to be secured. I also wouldn’t be against a guest worker program and some standards of treatment. I’m not a fan of rewarding people who break our laws in their illegal entry though. Let them get in line with everyone else. I do suggest that many on your side wish to have these people get all the rights that full citizens enjoy. They’d like to get them for voters. By the way- they are ILLEGAL ALIENS, not “undocumented workers”.
As far as your side’s weak reputation on the war on terror- it seems to be deserved in some cases. I’ve heard many who worry over the civil rights of these murderers. Some would have us fight this war in courts. Are you with them? I certainly don’t know, but it sounds like your concerns are a bit misplaced to me.
How did you like Rosie O’Donnell suggesting that fundamentalist Christians are more dangerous to the U.S. than fundamentalist Muslims are? And you wonder why some find liberals lacking on national security? I don’t.

Rockie,
I am pretty sure that we havn’t elected Rosie O’Donald to any public office at all. If so, I did not vote for her.
I’ve heard many who worry over the civil rights of these murderers.
I am pretty sure that I am always concerned that we treat people like humans Rockie. I think that your Christ would agree with me on that.

Shainie-
I merely asked what everyone thought about Rosie’s comments. I didn’t suggest that she was elected to anything, nor that she speaks for you. I can purposefully mis-spell your name too.
