Hi Craig Sprout! What a pleasant surprise to find your blog in a Google search this fine afternoon :-). Recognize my name by any chance? I’m a lot further away from Ennis than you are, haven’t lived there since 1982, and it’s still “home” to me, too. Let’s see, Nixon was Prez when you were born? That makes you closest to my eldest niece’s age and not far from mine.
I was just waxing nostalgic about Jim Bischoff and trying to catch up on what damfool thing he’d gotten himself into next. He was terrific in how he cared for my dad during his final years (dad died in ‘99, apparently before the doc went totally down the tubes druggie wise) and so I’ve always had a little soft spot for him because of that. My dad was no easy guy to care for/about :-(, so I’m grateful the guy was able to do well by him.
Anyhow, I’ll be meandering around your blog and reminiscing as if I were a much older fart than I really am. I get outrageously homesick when I haven’t been back to visit for a couple years, which is the case at the moment. Feel free to email me if you’d like. Thanks for all the effort you put in to putting this story together in one place, much appreciated.

Irene’s not the only one that’s found an old friend! How’s my favorite guru and his beautiful family?
I can’t say that I’m not heartbroken over Jim Bischoff…he was my friend. I’m not surprised either…no one that ever spent any time talking to the man would be….at least not over the murder charges. He believed in assisted suicide and in mercy killing, and he didn’t make many bones about it.
Shoot me an email Craig and/or “Spousal Unit”
I’d love to catch up!
