Have You Ever Wondered . . .

July 15th, 2005 | by Craig |

. . . why rural folks have such contempt for “dudes” and “city slickers?”

Here’s your answer.

It almost makes one hope that some cataclysm does make Morford and his ilk have to beg one of us rural folk to share some home-cut venison.

The red states will finally rule the world. They will survive. They know how. They can eat squirrel brains. They can pickle things, including various animal parts. They have been known to marry each other. They can subsist on bad beer and cow pies and stuff they find growing in the rusty tailpipes of old farm equipment. They know how to perform home surgery using only a rusty butter knife and bathroom caulk. They eat mice.

Yes, folks, that’s what your “betters” in liberal enclaves think of you.

He takes some pretty good swipes at everybody there, and I’m sure it would have been funny … if he only had a point. Or maybe I’m too addled from eating mouse brains to get what he’s driving at.

We’ve always said come the revolution, Mike & I will survive just fine….precisely because we can do those things. Well, plus the gun tower we’re planning to build.

I’ve never eaten a mouse, but I do know if you get hungry enough, you’ll eat just about anything and be glad of it. Had to quit eating squirrel brains, they carry a variant of mad cow disease you know.

So he can just go ahead & make fun. I’ll survive. He won’t.

Well, it used to be the right making fun of the left… when all of the folks in the South (who marry their relatives and do all of that stuff) were Dixiecrats. Now that they are Republicrats, the right has to endure them being part of their group. :)

I can say that because I was born and raised in Memphis TN… and being from Tennessee people always asked me if I married my cousin. Good thing I’m on my second marriage and don’t have to talk about my first anymore. :)

So Scott- WAS your first a cousin? Just had to ask. (in fun only)

Rocky… no. I didn’t have many girl cousins in my age group. :( hahahahahaha
