All Over Now

December 20th, 2004 | by Craig |

For those of you who are tired of “All Griz, All the Time,” you’ll notice that the Griz logo is down for the year, and all the maroon is blue, so all is back to what passes for normal around here.

I’m disappointed that the Griz didn’t win all the marbles, but all things being equal, those kids played a helluva season. If you had told me in September that they would have been in the NC game, I would have laughed at you.

All in all, I think they’ve done us proud, and we could be right back in Chatty next year. (Though I do hope someone does something about that field. Atrocious.)

So, anyway, it’ll be back to the regular drivel . . .

. . . at least until next September! ;)

I didn’t watch a majority of the game (office Christmas party), so was the field’s condition a factor? Obviously, both teams are subject to the conditions, but I can’t imagine it helped the Griz’s defense against their running attack. Kudos to Carroll for their win!

Are you going blue to match your mood after the Griz defeat?

Well, that wasn’t exactly what I had in mind. Maybe I should go with a fuschia, or mauve.

    Perhaps taupe?

Craig- I like the blue. It’s my favorite color.

Gman- Office christmas party? Don’t you mean annual winter staff meeting?

As for the field conditions of the big game, I’ve never seen worse. How do you stop a running game when you can barely get good enough footing to stand up? I submit that the field was what lost it for the Griz.

The field was an absolute debacle. When a groundskeeper has to run out to the field to cut the mesh away from the sod, it’s a field in terrible shape. I have no idea what was running through their minds when the planted sod that close to the championship game.
