You’re Kidding, Right?
May 28th, 2004 | by Craig |You know, I really have a hard time understanding why so many people are giving this movie so much credibility.
As far as I’m concerned, I’m willing to accept global warming — but, to me, the evidence is equivocal as to whether or not it’s man-made.
But, let me remind you: This movie is based on a book written by Art Friggin’ Bell and Whitley Strieber.
Do I need to say much more than that?

*refrains from reiterating the geologic reason why we have global warming, and why there’s nothing we can do about it except get over it*
Personally, I like seeing diaster movies such as ‘The Core’ and definately this one so I can make fun of all the inaccuracies, usually geologically related.

It’s entertainment, people!

People are ready to accept global warming as fact because the liberal media presents it as fact.
They dish it out in a steady diet on NPR. “Morning Edition”, “All Things Considered” and “Earth and Sky” have a gloom and doom story on at least once a month…It’s all presented as FACT. The only rebuttal that is ever heard is something like “although some scientists would disagree……”
It’s the same on the “major networks”
The thing that burns my ass is that a great deal of taxpayer money goes into National Socialist Radio (NPR).
Thomas Sowell had a great column last week that applies here…His three questions for any argument or idea served up by the liberals are…”Compared to what…? How much will it cost….? And your hard facts are….?”
Something to remember in your discussions with the prophets of doom.
