State Not Paying Fair Share for Education

January 17th, 2004 | by mtpolitics |

The state is not paying its fair share for primary and secondary public education in Montana and is forcing local property taxpayers to pick up the ever-increasing tab, plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the state of Montana claim.

Let me see if I can rephrase that: Since the state is not paying its fair share for education, it has to pay more to ease the burden on local taxpayers.

Just where, pray tell, does the state get the money to ease said burden?

Just asking.

Ya missed the point–again. 12 years of Republican mis-management in State government has resulted in tax dollars flowing to Helena and not being returned locally to the schools.
